If your battery is showing any of the following signs then it is probably a good idea to replace it:

1: If it loses charge in a short period of time (such as a day or two or even less)

2: If it is reduced in capacity by 80% percent or more

3: You see a significant increase in recharging time.

4: If it gets hotter than normal when charging (note - all rechargeable batteries will warm up when charging to some degree).

5: If there is any physical damage to the battery.

6: If it is more then 2-3 years old.
